Rochester is the town where Charles Dickens spent the last few years of his life. He used the town and the people as inspiration for his books (this is a direct quote from Ben who paid attention to the signs more then I did) In these couple pictures you see the courtyard dedicated to things about him, as well as the house in which he died.
