WHAT WE ARE DOING

For those of you we have neglected to inform, here is an update of what our plans are.

We have both been hired by an agency to teach in England. Currently, this agency (TimePlan) is searching for jobs that suit our teaching specialties and are in the areas we want to live. At this time we hope to be placed just outside of London. As great as London is, the cost of living is significantly cheaper once you travel further away from the centre of London, so this is what we have requested.Ben is really hoping to find a job teaching Drama. After my challenging experience this year, I am actually looking to teach what they call Key Stage One or Key Stage Two, which is actually approximately ages 5-11.Teachers in the UK have until TODAY to give their notice about whether they stay at their current jobs. After this many vacancies will come flooding into the TimePlan office (so we have been told) and from there the jobs meant to be for us will be located.

A great perk about living in the UK is that their school system gives a week off after every six weeks of teaching. We plan to travel travel travel! At this point we have picked our six top places we would live to visit. I am positive this list will grow with time. Which, will be updated thanks to this fancy blog.
Here are our agreed upon locations as of today:
  • Spain
  • Italy
  • Greece
  • Holland
  • Paris
  • Ireland

We are looking to leave at the end of August. Currently we are in the process of applying for our Visas, converting dollars into pounds and hoarding Tim Horton's Coffee, Kraft Dinner and Peanut Butter in preparation for our travels. Thanks for reading Mom!
